Are you ready to deeply relax? Whether you’re starting your day, in need of a timeout or winding down from your day, here are 5 restorative yoga poses that will soothe your nervous system, calm your mind and help you deeply relax. So grab yourself a couple of pillows and get ready to lull yourself into a state of bliss. Stay for 3 to 5 minutes in each pose or as long as comfortable.
Supported Child’s Pose (Salamba Balanasana) – Soothe frazzled nerves and allow yourself to deeply relax. A calming and restful pose. Childs pose gently stretches the chest, shoulders, hips and spine. Also a great reliever for lower back pain.
Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana) – Calm your mind and relieve stress. This rejuvenating pose stretches you spine, shoulders and improves digestion. Forward folds are help relieve headaches and anxiety and reduces fatigue.
Reclined Butterfly Pose- Recharge in this calming posture, relax the nervous system and increase circulation the lower abdomen. This pose provides a deep stretch to the inner thighs and increases external rotation in the hips.
🧘🏽♀️Supported bridge pose – Luxuriously restorative, this pose help to relieve lower back pain, rejuvenate tired legs and relieve mental stress. This pose improves digestion and helps relieves menstrual discomfort and symptoms of menopause.
Supine Twist – Therapeutic and nourishing. This pose improves digestion, stretches the spine and provides a beautiful massage for all the back muscles.
